The Tahquamenon River basin in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula receives epic amounts of lake effect snowfall each winter. Tahquamenon’s frozen waterfalls together with generous snowfall create an ideal venue for snowshoe racing.

Online registration or in person registration at the Upper Falls on race day (February 16, 2013). Register Now.

Purpose

Proceeds from this race support environmental education programs at the Whitefish Township School in Paradise, MI.

Course Descriptions

All events start at the Upper Tahquamenon Falls. The 15K includes 5K of machine groomed trail and 10K of packed single track. The course includes spectacular views of the Upper Falls and travels through forested sections of towering old growth white pines. The kid’s 800 meter is a single machine groomed loop that is spectator friendly.

No refunds or transfers.  Once you are registered your entry fee is not refundable nor can you transfer your entry to another snowshoer.   $25 charge for cancelled and NSF checks.

Packet Pick Up & Race Day Registration

Early registration is encouraged to help us plan for food & supplies; however participants may still register Saturday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Upper Falls.  Pre-registered participants may also pick up their race materials at this time.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top three in each age group for each race. Overall male and female winners in the 15K will receive a pair of Atlas Snowshoes. Overall winners of the 5K and Kid’s races will receive Patagonia Fleece tops. Age group awards for each race include local maple syrup, honey, and Dagoba Organic Chocolate.
